Getting ready for Sawing
- Any branches should be trimmed as close as possible to the trunl
- Have a cut list ready if you have a project in mind
- Make a plan for where your finished lumber/beams ect. will go when it comes off the mill. The best thing to so is stack and sticker as it comes off the mill
- Make a plan for acrap wood and sawdust.
- The sawing site needs to be level.
- The mill and tow vehicle are similar in size to a full size pickup with a 25 foot travel trailer, logs are loaded from the driver's side of the tow vehicle, the site needs to be large enough to accomodate for it.
- Logs should be aligned side by side, centers alignes, so that they can be rolled sideways to load on the mill.
- Logs (any species) should be sawn up as soon as possible after the tree is cut.
- Have enough help on the day of the sawmilling. Even a few logs can turn into a lot of work!
- The sawyer is there to saw your logs again, make sure you have enough help.
- Please call if you have questions!.
